My lovely wife Deb, aka “The Bombshell” and me

I am a married father of three accomplished adults, each married, and each productive to the kingdom of God. My wife and I have shared a journey together for nearly forty years, during which time I pastored three churches, taught at two colleges and a middle school.

Recently, I also successfully completed a doctoral degree program. I hold earned degrees from Arizona State, Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary, and Calvin Theological Seminary.

Having pastored for nearly thirty years, I have been led by the Lord to pursue more writing, while I continue to teach, coach, consult, and assist others in discovering the joys of living out the disciplines of the faith.

My doctoral work at Dallas Theological Seminary investigated the spiritual disciplines, as practiced and preached by Jonathan Edwards through his weekly sermons. My current writing interest is focused on the application of the most-often ignored disciplines of biblical meditation, fasting, and contemplation. I am most interested in those practices that will not only improve our concentration, focus, and outlook, but also those which best prepare our mind and body for the stamina and strength necessary to live well in an imperfect world.
